PROGRAM FOR ACHIEVING CHARACTER EDUCATION

Monica Speach, author of PACE, earned her
undergraduate degree in Romance Languages
from Fairfield University. She received her
Master of Arts degree in Education and
has worked in education with students
from grades K-college. Her background
includes teaching English as a Second
Language,Spanish, and
homeschooling her own children for
eleven years.
In recent years, her work has centered
on issues of civic responsibility,
volunteerism and character education.
The PACE curriculum is a direct result of her
research and ongoing interest in the growing
field of character education.
"As Aristotle wrote, good habits formed at youth make all the difference. I cannot think of a more vital task for parents and teachers than to start children off on the right foot, by giving them a strong moral foundation. This is the purpose of the PACE program."
